GCHQ Information Assurance Jobs

CESG are GCHQ’s experts in Information Assurance. We are the UK’s National Technical Authority (NTA) for Information Assurance (IA) and protect the vital interests of the UK by providing advice and assistance on the security of communications and electronic data. Put simply, we safeguard current systems from risk and intrusion, and future-proof systems against potential threat. Our people work across project management, R&D, consultancy evaluation and coaching. We’re looking for people with current or recent experience in:

  • RF Engineering
  • Intrusion Detection
  • Vulnerabilities
  • Incident Response
  • Software Engineering
  • Crypt Evaluations
  • Crypt Applications

With such a broad range of expertise and interests, it’s hard for us to forecast exactly what you’ll be doing. It’s almost certain your skills and role will evolve over a number of different postings. But wherever you start, we’ll assume you’re a quick learner who’s deeply interested in computer and network technology and how systems work, and that you’re equally comfortable working alone, and with others. Our work is quite detailed and creative, and you’ll need to be persistent and confident of tackling challenging projects (including, for example, reverse engineering an unfamiliar piece of equipment). If you have an interest in hacking, electronics, cryptography and network protocols, even better.
