Language Analyst - Linguist. Learner. Leader.

I studied languages at university and I wanted a job that used my language skills... so the chance to retrain in a rare language sounded like just what I was looking for. Learning a new language from scratch – and a rare one at that – well, it’s a big challenge. You don’t have things like dictionaries to learn from, so you rely on the training and support you get from experienced colleagues. But it’s not just about language – I’ve been able to develop my business skills too. It gives you the bigger picture and helps to put your work into context. That’s why I joined GCHQ.
